My Weekend Bender...

So I've discovered that I just don't do alcohol well.
I drank a lot when I was younger & single, but since having the girls, I reckon I'd have a couple of drinks a year. Now that I'm going RAW those couple of drinks feel like a couple of bottles the next day. Ick...also who's got time to feel bad for a whole day?

So on the weekend we went to a BBQ that was very nice. Meat, meat, meat as far as the eye could see. I wanted to join in so I changed my cooked meal to lunch time & ate RAW for breaky & dinner.
I've decided to be as RAW as possible but if being RAW stops me from enjoying myself I'm going to eat that cooked thing. So far, this has taken the "Oh no! No chocolate!" desperation thing away.
So it's all about trying.

Had a smoothy for breakfast & salad for lunch. Getting up in the morning is a breeze. Now for those that know me well, this is major!
Not so much poop anymore & no tummy upsets due to the RAW eating. Water & lemon intake is good, Lala & the kids starting to take more of an interest.
Now I can't say I've lost any weight, I don't believe in weighing myself & I can't find my tape measure but let's just say buttons are buttoning more easily now. Old jeans are more comfortable & most importantly I feel lighter.
My skin's clearing up, that pimple under my eye was gone in what? Two days? It would have hung around for ages before.

This book arrived today, it's very interesting. I'm only a few chapters in & already I'd recommend it. It's not a recipe book, (although there is a chapter) but it seems to be packed with reasons to go RAW & how to do it properly. I'll let you know what I think...

If you're doing this too or are thinking about it remember this, chew those greens really, really well for them to have the most benefit. Either that or do the green smoothy thing.
See ya soon...

(Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I had a small mole on my side that fell off! I was kinda freaked about it but the chick that wrote the book said the same thing happened to her. Weird huh?)

hhhhmmmm alcohol and coffee
devils aren't they
for me it was cold turkey or i would still be sipping away
i was a shocker of a drinker, could never have just a couple and i hate to think how i would feel now if i had even one glass
the great thing is i am having more fun now than i ever used to - naturally high (well there were a few fab nights in my past unraw life the prob is i don't remember them so well because i was far too out of it - oh well)
your weekend sounds like a fabulous experiment
it really is all about the awareness, not the self-bashing, but the awareness
getting to know our bodies more and more with each mouthful, each sip, it is the ultimate self discovery
all my love on your hot new journey

I think reading your blog is a good influence on me. I've certainly been eating more veggies than usual, although this weekend I ate pretty unhealthy. It's inspiring to read about the effects of this raw diet on your body. I'm glad you're starting to feel better.

Ok...so here's my question: is everything raw, as in "not cooked at all". perhaps that shoudl be obvious, but I just want to check. :)

The mole thing---weird, but cool.

I nearly bought a vita-mix today...demo guy, very persuasive, etc. Would you recommend a vita=mix (or blender...not the brand necessarily) if I'm trying to "go raw"? I have a juicer, but I'm wondering if a bad boy blender would be a nice addition.

I get hungry just reading about this. I don't know how you do it. I mean, raw foods are good, but...

But I am really curious if any of my moles would fall off.
