Heeeeellllllooooooo!

Hey!
How you doin'?
I've been away for a while with a crashed computer but now I'm back!
I've been on & off the RAW wagon, mostly on I'm happy to say although I'm always so bloody tired & flat.
I think it's 'cause I'm still breast feeding. Mei is 18months now & it feels like she is just draining me. I'm thinking of adding some organic brown rice to my diet while nursing, just to boost me up a bit. Anyone got any advice?
We just bought an old cast iron Japanese kettle. I'm hoping this will put some iron back into my diet. I'll keep ya posted on that.
Actually, I think I remember seeing something about RAW pregnancy & feeding on one of the RAW sites.
I'm off to take a look. Let me know what you're up too...

Cake & Coffee...

Today I was RAW until the cake & coffee.
My girlfriend & I ALWAYS do cake & coffee. It's a ritual.
The coffee I'm happy to hold onto for a while but I think we need a new bonding food.
What do you think about fruit Suz?
Apart from that, all my meals were RAW today.
Getting closer...

Hmmmmmmmmm...

Today I feel like crap.
My period is on the way, which always makes me SUPER hungry.
I also have this weird salty taste in the back of my throat. Any ideas on that?
Had a smoothy for breakfast & then had an English Muffin with Peanut butter for lunch.
All I want right now is fruit. The idea of salad makes me queasy so I'll go with the fruit I think.
It's a RAW fruit dinner for me tonight GIRRRRRRLS!
How you guys doin? Xxx

My Weekend Bender...

So I've discovered that I just don't do alcohol well.
I drank a lot when I was younger & single, but since having the girls, I reckon I'd have a couple of drinks a year. Now that I'm going RAW those couple of drinks feel like a couple of bottles the next day. Ick...also who's got time to feel bad for a whole day?

So on the weekend we went to a BBQ that was very nice. Meat, meat, meat as far as the eye could see. I wanted to join in so I changed my cooked meal to lunch time & ate RAW for breaky & dinner.
I've decided to be as RAW as possible but if being RAW stops me from enjoying myself I'm going to eat that cooked thing. So far, this has taken the "Oh no! No chocolate!" desperation thing away.
So it's all about trying.

Had a smoothy for breakfast & salad for lunch. Getting up in the morning is a breeze. Now for those that know me well, this is major!
Not so much poop anymore & no tummy upsets due to the RAW eating. Water & lemon intake is good, Lala & the kids starting to take more of an interest.
Now I can't say I've lost any weight, I don't believe in weighing myself & I can't find my tape measure but let's just say buttons are buttoning more easily now. Old jeans are more comfortable & most importantly I feel lighter.
My skin's clearing up, that pimple under my eye was gone in what? Two days? It would have hung around for ages before.

This book arrived today, it's very interesting. I'm only a few chapters in & already I'd recommend it. It's not a recipe book, (although there is a chapter) but it seems to be packed with reasons to go RAW & how to do it properly. I'll let you know what I think...

If you're doing this too or are thinking about it remember this, chew those greens really, really well for them to have the most benefit. Either that or do the green smoothy thing.
See ya soon...

(Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I had a small mole on my side that fell off! I was kinda freaked about it but the chick that wrote the book said the same thing happened to her. Weird huh?)

OMG!

For Dawn & Saskia...

Having 2 RAW meals a day now. I feel good but also hungry. I'll work that out as I learn more though. Water intake is good, could be better. I'm adding lemon juice to my water now too. I have a large, blind pimple under my right eye.
Eh, what are ya gunna do?

So this how I am making my green smoothies right now.
I don't have a juicer so I'm using 100% juice in a carton.
So, here we go.
Chuck the following into a blender...

  • banana
  • any other fruit you like
  • a smidge of juice to get things going. You could also use water instead or as well.

Blend. Always blend your fruit first. I read that somewhere & it does make a difference to the taste.

Now that you are all fruitied up, add your greens

  • spinach
  • lettuce
  • cabbage
  • broccoli
  • avocado
  • any other green you can find
  • add sprouts too

Wizz it all up until it's to a consistency that you like. Add water or juice to keep things going. (If you don't add water or juice it comes out like pudding which is YUM too!)

Pour & drink. So good!

Feeling...

Blah. Had a stomach ache for the past day or so off & on. This is to be expected though.
Ate a cooked meal last night. I'm starting to think that my stomach ache could be from mixing cooked & RAW. Could also be just from eating the two RAW meals a day.
Today I had a green smoothy for breakfast & lunch as I thought it might be better on my stomach. I ate a cooked meal with salad for dinner & I feel OK.
I'm finding it easier to get up in the morning too.
I've also been feeling a bit spacey, but hey what's new?
Oh yeah... who knew there could be so much poop?

Yum!
